Derek is a specialist consultant in the field of change and transformation, and he is absolutely passionate about the topic. His interest and experience in the filed of change and transformation has led him to create the ‘Pendula’ Model™ (on the left), which could be regarded as one of the leading Change Management Models in the world.
The Pendula Model allows organisations to continuously change and transform whilst minimising employee resistance. This is done through installing four change stabilisers within the organisation, and directing all energy towards organisational purpose.
When consulting in this field, Derek first works with understanding the organization, its culture, values, paradigm, processes, the desired reality, and its current reality. Once the initial diagnosis has been done, Derek will customise a process that will suit the organisations specific change and transformation needs. The process will usually take the form of a report with recommendations.
 
The recommendations will be organisational and context specific. Often, change and transformation initiatives form part of other interventions such as a Organisational Development Process, or a Reengineering Project. Derek has often been involved with integrated projects and is comfortable in working in this context.
